Woodland Hill Montessori School

This new 17,000 sq.ft. elementary school provides a commanding view across the upper Hudson River valley to the Helderberg mountains beyond.  Representing an investment of nearly 2 million dollars in construction, this facility includes an energy efficient insulated building envelope, radiant floor heating and "green" building materials such as linoleum floor covering and low VOC surface treatments. The building design is similar to a collection of cottages, providing individual access from each classroom to the wooded site where trees and original rolling meadow-scapes have been preserved for use by both students and staff. The floor plan includes ten classrooms, an art/multi-purpose room, recreational/assembly multi-purpose recreational space, office, meeting and administration areas.
